Teaching keeps me alive but not in the way most people often assume.
For every hour of teaching, there are several of preparation. Thus it allows me to research, contemplate and share the wonders and mysteries of this world which fascinate me and drive my own art practice.
Some recurring themes in my teaching and art are: the Beauty of Nature and the Nature of Beauty, of perception and of existence itself. The joy of slow observation. The concept of Practice. The artist and society and our collective human cultural heritage. Engaging with students from all over the world has, indeed, kept me alive in many ways. I also teach privately.
