A tiny painting of a dark alleyway. Returning at the same time on 5 different days, I painted it on site. I used to run into an elderly artist, Fosco Pavi (1910-2007) who painted all around the city en plein air. He was the last of the Macchiaioli. Florence is full of his paintings as well as those of Guido Borgiani (1915-2011) another painter I used to come across often. Both were local characters of the city center.
