While I was painting mid-summer in 2008, I was torn away for a week-long seminar. I painted until an hour before I had to leave. It’s exhilarating to paint en plein air! There are moments when the color is right, the marks are flowing out of the brush, the desire and energy levels are right. Some paintings are better left unfinished rather than going back in under different circumstances. This is why some flowers are floating in mid air.
